Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) stock rose 0.4% after the Facebook owner agreed to pay $725 million to resolve a class-action lawsuit accusing the social media giant of allowing third parties, including Cambridge Analytica, to access users' personal information.

Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) stock rose 0.2% after Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), up 0.2%, defended its $69B bid to buy the "Call of Duty" maker, saying it would benefit gamers and gaming companies alike.
- General Motors (NYSE:GM) stock rose 0.5% despite the auto giant having to recall 140,000 Chevrolet Bolt EVs in North America because of fire risks.
- Valneva (NASDAQ:VALN) ADRs rose 3.3% after the vaccines company said it had completed a regulatory submission step with the FDA for its single-shot chikungunya, a mosquito-borne viral disease, vaccine candidate.
